Avan Settelment Part One

Avan was founded by the Eskimo people in the 14th century. The locaton is perfect for living and wale hunting as it has exits to the sea and the fresh water lake, as well as to tundra berries, mushrooms and plants. After the Soviet army built a battery on the top of the hill, this settelment was closed by the goverment and all people were moved to the different place in 1942.
If you will look closer you will see the round shapes of the former houses and of course our tundra buses
Graveyard in the rocks
Another grave with some left over bones
Going down from the graveyard on the rocky road is very uncomfortable.
Igor shows the cultural layer of the sveral centuries. You can find pottery, wale bones, baylean baskets and other things that Eskimo used.
